The Bajaj Group, with total revenues of USD 3.25 billion and an assets base of USD 4.4 billion, has interests in Power, Sugar, Ethanol, Real Estate, Personal Care Products and Infrastructure. The group’s power business includes - Bajaj Energy Private Ltd, with 450 MW thermal power generation commissioned in 2012 and the Lalitpur Power Generation Co. Ltd. with a total of 1980 MW thermal power generation capacity.

The Lalitpur Power Generation Co. Ltd. (LPGCL), part of the Bajaj Group, has set up a 3x660 MW Power Plant at Lalitpur in Bundelkhand (UP). It successfully synchronised its third Unit of 660 MW today. The first and second units of 660 MW each were commissioned in September 2015 and January 2016 respectively and have already achieved full load capacity.

What stands out for us is that all three units have been synchronised within one financial year (2015-16), which is a record in the industry. Unit 1 and 2 were commissioned with a gap of just 3 months, making it another landmark achievement. The third Unit is expected to attain full load within a short period from now. This Unit will be commissioned shortly, which will result in attaining full capacity generation of 1980 MW at the Lalitpur Power Plant, making it the biggest thermal power plant dedicated to Uttar Pradesh.
