Asia’s Number 1 and World’s Number 4 integrated sugar company. Founded in 1931, Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd. is India’s renowned sugar manufacturer with a successful global presence. The company has pinned 14 sugar plants across different parts of Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, being the pioneers of the country’s ethanol program, BHSL has now increased its production capacity to nearly 218 million litres per year to meet the emerging market demand.

Mr. Kushagra Bajaj

Chairman

Mr. Kushagra Bajaj is one of our Promoters. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Economics, Political Philosophy and Finance from the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA. Mr. Bajaj completed his Master of Science degree in Marketing from Northwestern University, Chicago, USA.

Mr. Bajaj was the Chief Executive of the Company from August 2001 to April 2007 and was appointed as Joint Managing Director with effect from April 24, 2007. He was re-designated as the Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director with effect from April 30, 2011, and is responsible for overall operations of our Company. He has seventeen years of experience in sugar and FMCG industries, all of which has been with our Company and with the Group Companies of our Promoters. He became the Chairman & Managing Director of the Company with effect from October 18, 2014, to August 13, 2019.

In accordance with the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 regarding the appointment of Non-Executive Chairman not related to Managing director or Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kushagra Bajaj relinquished the post of Managing director and redesignated as Chairman (Non- Executive) of the Company from August 14, 2019.

Mr. Atul Hasmukhrai Mehta

Independent Director

Mr. Atul H. Mehta has been a member of our Board of Directors since January 01, 2020. He has a Corporate Law Advisor, B. Com, B.G.L. and FCS, is practising Company Secretary and promoter of Mehta & Mehta Company Secretaries, Mehta & Mehta Advisory Services Private Limited & Mangalam Placement Private Limited. Mr. Mehta comes with an experience of over 25 years in the field of Corporate Law, Capital Market and Human Resource.

He has served the industry as a Company Secretary and compliance head for 5 years soon after which he took his pioneering step towards consulting and practising as a Company Secretary full time. He has also served as secretary of International Association of Company Secretaries which comprises of 42 countries as members. He has also shepherded Institute of Company Secretaries All India as President in the year 2015-16. He was past Chairman of Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) in 2009.

He was also on the board of various other companies as Independent Director. He has also been elected as Secretary of CISA at Global Level. He was also a part of MCA Committee. He was a member of the RBI Restructuring Committee. He was also a member of the Company Law Committee (6 members), Ministry of Corporate Affairs 2015. He is a member of IOD (Institute of Directors).

Mr. D. K. Shukla

Independent Director

Mr. D. K. Shukla has been a member of our Board of Directors since October 2001. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. He served as a representative for the Life Insurance Corporation of India on our Board until November 11, 2008. He retired as an Executive Director of LIC in February 2003.

During his tenure with LIC, he occupied positions like Regional Manager and was in charge of 3 LIC divisions. Mr. Shukla was re-inducted in the Board with effect from December 21, 2008, as an Independent Director. In addition, Mr. Shukla is a member and Chairman of our Audit Committee, Chairman of Nomination & Remuneration Committee and Chairman of Stakeholders Relationship Committee.

Mr. Ashok Kumar Gupta

Managing Director

Mr. Ashok Kumar Gupta has been a member of our Board of Directors since October 2012. He has experience of more than 50 years in the Sugar Industry. After completing his M. Com from Agra University, he had started his service career from Dhampur Sugar Mills, in 1970 and thereafter joined Upper Doab Sugar Mills in August 1978. Thereafter, he had joined Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited, on May 31, 1982, and since then continuing with BHSL.

During his long tenure with BHSL, he had worked in various senior posts in different departments. He is a patron member of The Sugar Technologists’ Association of India (STAI). He has been awarded “GEM OF INDIA AWARD” on June 30, 2011, by Council for National Development, New Delhi on its 58th National Convention of National Building through Individual Achievements.

On September 24, 2012, the STAI presented him the “Sardar Gurmit Singh Maan Gold Medal Award”- Professional of the year award 2011. In 2019, Mr. Gupta has been awarded the most prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award” from Sugar Technologists’ Association of India (STAI) for his outstanding contribution and better management of Cane Development. He became the Managing Director with effect from August 14, 2019.

Mr. Amir Singh Yadav

Nominee Director (PNB)

Mr. Amir Singh Yadav has been appointed as Director, nominated by Punjab National Bank, since June 25, 2019. Mr. Amir Singh Yadav aged 58 years is a professional banker having 34 years of experience. He is presently designated as Circle Head, Punjab National Bank, Noida. He holds the degree of M.Com. and Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers ( CAIIB).

Mr. Ashok Mukand

Nominee Director (SBI)

Mr. Ashok Mukand has been appointed as a Director, nominated by State Bank of India, since September 2015. He holds the degree of B.Sc and Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). Mr. Mukand joined SBI on December 14, 1970. Until his retirement on May 31, 2009, he had served SBI in various senior positions like CGM, LHO Kolkata and DMD & CFO, Corporate Centre, Mumbai.

Ms. Shalu Bhandari

Independent Director

Ms. Shalu Bhandari has been a member of our Board of Directors since September 17, 2016. She is a qualified Company Secretary and a fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. Ms. Bhandari is the proprietor of M/s. S.L. Bhandari & Associates, Practicing Company Secretaries operating in Mumbai since 2002. Ms. Bhandari is having experience in providing services in the field of Corporate Law matters with a dedicated focus towards handholding entrepreneurs and corporates.

Mr. Ashok Kumar Gupta

Managing Director

Mr. Ashok Kumar Gupta is a renowned name in Sugar Industry, who has experience of more than 50 years in Sugar Industry. After completing his M. Com from Agra University, he started his service career from Dhampur Sugar Mills in 1970 and thereafter joined Upper Doab Sugar Mills (a Unit of Shadilal Enterprises) in August, 1978. Thereafter, he joined Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited, Golagokarannath, Lakhimpur Kheri on 31st May, 1982 and since then continuing with BHSL. During his long tenure of 39 years with BHSL, he had worked at senior positions of different departments. He is a patron Member of The Sugar Technologists’ Association of India (Membership No. 4551). He has been awarded with “GEM OF INDIA AWARD” on 30th June, 2011 by Council for National Development, New Delhi on its 58th National Convention of National Building through Individual Achievements.

Mr. Ajay Kumar Sharma

Unit Head, Bilai & Zonal Coordinator (Cane), WZ

Mr. Sharma joined BHSL in September 2014 and has experience of more than 32 years in areas of Cane Development, Production Planning, Plant Operations & Quality Control. He holds a LL.B degree and is also a Post Graduate degree in M.Sc (Agriculture). Prior to joining us, he has worked with Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd., Shermau, Uttar Pradesh

Mr. Alok Kumar Vaish

CFO

Mr. Vaish joined our organization in March 2004. He has experience of more than 29 years in areas of Finance, Budgeting , Accounts and Financial Management. He is a Chartered Accountant. Prior to joining us, he has worked with A.M. Securities Ltd., Shree Janki Solvent Extraction Ltd. and Oswal Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.

Mr. Amit Agrawal

Vice President (Sales & Marketing)

Mr. Agrawal joined our organization in December 2005. He has experience of around 23 years in various areas including Sales & Marketing (both Domestic and Exports) of Sugar, various Grades of Alcohol including Ethanol, Molasses, State Excise management, other related commercial activities. He has done B.Sc. Physics (Hons.) from Delhi University and then Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) from Birla Institute of Management Technology, Delhi. Prior to joining us, he has worked with DCM Shriram Industries Limited.

Mr. Avdhesh Kumar Gupta

Zonal Head (Operations), EZ & Unit Head, Utraula

Mr. Gupta joined BHSL in July 2003 and has experience of more than 37 years in areas of Technical Expertise. He holds a Mechanical Engineering . Prior to joining us, he has worked with Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd., Hargaon (KK Birla Group) and Sir Shadi Lal Sugar & General Mills (Mansurpur - Muzaffar Nagar) and Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd. - Sugar Unit - Khatauli.

Mr. Gyanendra Vir Singh

Unit Head Kundarkhi & Zonal Head (Cane) East Zone

He has joined BHSL in May 2019 and has experience of about 28 years in areas of Sugarcane Development and cane Marketing. He holds Post Graduate in Agriculture Science. Prior to joining us, he has worked with Balrampur Sugar (Babhnan – Gonda), JK Sugar (Meerganj – Bareilly) and Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd. - Unit : Gola (Kheri).

Mr. Jitendra Singh Jadaun

Unit Head Barkhera & Zonal Head (Cane) Central Zone

He has joined BHSL in April 2016 and has experience of more than 34 years in areas Cane Development & Marketing. He holds a B. Sc. (Agriculture) degree. Prior to joining us, he has worked with LH Sugar Factory, Pilibhit (U.P.).

Mr. Kausik Adhikari

Company Secretary

Mr. Kausik has joined our organization in 2010. He has more than 15 years of experience in Corporate Secretarial functions and has worked extensively in the areas like Corporate Governance, Compliances and Mergers & Acquisitions. He is a qualified Company Secretary and has done Masters in Commerce. Prior to joining us, Mr. Adhikari has worked with organizations like The Pratappur Sugar and Industries Limited and Reliance Industries Limited.

Mr. Kiran Pal Singh

Unit Head Kinauni

He has joined BHSL in May 2017 and has experience of more than 38 years in areas of Production Planning, Plant Operations & Quality Control. He holds a M.Sc (Agriculture) degree. Prior to joining us, he has worked with SBEC Limited - Malakpur, Modinagar Uttar Pradesh.

Mr. Prabhakar Chandra

Asst. Vice President (H.R.)

Mr. Chandra joined our organization in August 2004. He has experience of around 28 years in areas of H.R., Administration & Legal. He holds LL.B and MBA (HR) degree. Prior to joining us, he has worked with Dhampur Sugar, Rauzagaon.

Mr. S.M.Raza

Sr.Vice President (Sales & Marketing)

Mr. Raza joined our organization in July 2005. He has experience of more than 31 years in areas of Sales & Marketing and holds a B.Com (Honours) degree and has also done Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management. Prior to joining us, he has worked with R. B. N. Sugar Mills Ltd., Sanatco, Jolly Televisions Ltd. and Bajaj Auto Ltd.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Goyal

Vice President (Finance & Accounts)

Mr.Goyal joined BHSL in September 2018 and has experience of more than 27 years in areas of Finance & Accounts. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant (1991). Prior to joining us, he has worked with Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd, Belgaum, Vikas WSP Ltd. Sriganganagar & Delhi.

Mr. Veer Pal Singh

Zonal Head (Operations) - West Zone & Unit Head Thanabhawan

Mr. Singh joined BHSL in November 2005 and has experience of more than 42 years in areas of Production Planning, Plant Operations & Quality Control. He holds a Diploma in Mechanical. Prior to joining us, he has worked with M/s Saraya Sugar Mill, Sardarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

Mr. Vikas Chandra Tyagi

Unit Head Maqsoodapur & Zonal Head (Technical) Central Zone

He has joined BHSL in December 2016 and has experience of more than 32 years in areas of Engineering. He holds a B.Tech(Mechanical) degree, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Specialization in Production Engineering), Sugar Engineering Certificates, Energy Manager Certification and is also a B.O.E.. Prior to joining us, he has worked with Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd., Saraswati Sugar Mills, Shamli and R.B.N.Sugar Mills Ltd.
